We start and build companies ourselves. When the thing we want to exist does not exist, we will write the first plan, hire the first team and carry the early risk on our own balance sheet.
An international family office
For the era when
machines do the work.
OakBey invests in next-generation digital assets built for life in the autonomous era, when machines carry the work and human time becomes the scarce thing. We bring capital, and we bring people who build.
The question we underwrite is not whether the technology arrives. It is what humankind does with the hours it hands back, and who builds the tools, the schooling, the care, the provision and the entertainment that era will need.
Five streams, bundled or separate
Not only money.
OakBey builds, collaborates, consults, funds and advises. A company can take the whole package or draw on a single stream. The capital is the easiest part of what we bring.
We co-build and co-invest with operators, families and institutions who hold the other half of a problem: the distribution, the licence, the data, the clinical access or the local trust.
We take paid mandates. Strategy, product direction, market entry and diligence in the domains we invest in. Some of these relationships never need our capital, and that is a fine outcome.
We deploy the family's own capital. No fund life, no outside limited partners, no clock forcing a sale at the wrong moment. We can hold, add or wait.
We sit with founders and boards on the questions that decide a decade: positioning, governance, succession, hiring, and what to refuse.
Most relationships begin with one stream and widen. A consulting mandate that becomes an investment. An investment that becomes a build. We are not precious about the order.
The premise
Technology does the heavy lifting. Then what?
Software that acts, rather than only answers, is moving into the ordinary machinery of work. Each step takes human effort out of a process and leaves the person with a decision, a supervisory role, or nothing to do at all.
When labour stops organising the day, what remains are the questions of what to learn, who to care for, what to play, how to be useful and how to be provided for. Those are products. Very few exist yet at the standard the next generation will expect.
Schools train for employment. Welfare is calculated from wages. Entertainment is built for a tired person with two spare hours. All three assumptions loosen at once, and all three will be rebuilt by somebody.
Where we look
Six domains of human time.
We organise the portfolio around what a person will need, rather than around a technology stack. The technology is the given. The need is the investment.
Why a family office
A generational horizon, held on purpose.
A fund has a life, a vintage and a clock. A family does not. We can take a position that only makes sense in fifteen years, hold through a cycle that would force a sale elsewhere, and spend the first two years building rather than reporting.
That horizon is also an obligation. The people who inherit these holdings will inherit what they did to the world, not only what they returned. We invest as though we will have to explain both.
The scarce resource in an autonomous economy is not intelligence. It is a well-spent human life.
